Couple Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy for couples
Couple relationships sometimes encounter difficulties, which may appear to arise from one person's attitude or behaviour.

Couple psychotherapy is based on the view that each person contributes somehow to the creation and maintenance of the difficulty.

Analytic couple psychotherapy provides a safe setting in which partners can be helped to explore and understand how they relate to each other and bring about change.

Some couple psychotherapists work on their own whilst others work in partnership with a colleague. Either approach can bring about long term change in the relationship.

The sessions generally take place once weekly or fortnightly for one hour. There are also psychotherapists who work with couples in a group setting.
