an association of analytically trained individual, group, child and couple psychotherapists

About Us

About Us

Psychotherapy Sussex was founded in 1983 as the Brighton Association of Analytic Psychotherapists by members of the major psychotherapy training organisations. It now has over 60 members. As well as acting as a Sussex-wide referral network, Psychotherapy Sussex offers lectures and workshops for members (and eligible others) for continuing professional development.

All of our members are professionally qualified and have undertaken several years training with one of the major national analytic organisations. This will have included their own personal therapy and working with patients under close supervision.

Psychotherapy Sussex  members are registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) or with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP) and are required to abide by a strict professional code of ethics.

Complaints procedures are operated by each members professional or registering body.Whilst Psychotherapy Sussex does not investigate complaints directly we keep the welfare of clients uppermost and will assist individuals in contacting the relevant training organisation or registration body.
